Becca Gallacher

Founder, CEO & Editor in Chief
Becca is the founder and CEO of social enterprise little living room and Editor-in-Chief of the little living room publication. She is committed to supporting creative career development and diversifying access and support to the industry as a whole. She is in charge of business and artistic direction, social media management, relationship development, events management and operations. Becca began her creative career with creative writing, typography, fine art and abstract painting.

After studying Art & Philosophy, Rebecca went on to receive a BA Hons in Fine Art in 2015 from Duncan of Jordanstone, University of Dundee, specialising in abstract contemporary painting. Interning in journalism with CTR Barcelona Rebecca broadened her design, editing and journalistic practice. She went on to be shortlisted for the John Byrne Award in 2020 for her poetry.

Alongside her professional painting practice, Rebecca freelances as a panellist for the arts and business sector and consults in website & graphic design, social media, writing and copy editing.

Alexander Bruns

Business Developer
Alexander Bruns is the chair of our board and head of business development. They assist the board plan their development, produce annual budget reports, operational background paperwork and funding applications.

Emma A. J. Johnson
she / her
Graphic Designer
Emma is our graphic designer and board member supporting little living room in branding, marketing and creative direction.
Emma became passionate about print and graphic design when she was at the University of Warwick. Knowing how much she enjoyed employing these skills, she went on to incorporate them in her arts marketing roles; creating programmes, brochures and a range of other assets for Sadler's Wells and Rose Theatre Kingston.

Now, she takes on a wide variety of freelance projects - from brand work to book design - creates the bi-annual little living room publication and supports social enterprises with their design needs. She has worked with Soho Theatre, LGBTQ+ Faces of Bristol, Akram Khan Company, Totally Wild and VOXED Dance Theatre to name a few. She is also a founding board member with little living room.

Emma received a BA Hons in Classical Civilisation and an MA in Writing with distinction from the University of Warwick.

Fig is the resident treat-taster and toy-fetcher. He provides all the emotional support required to run a social enterprise and is the most professional member of the team.

Caroline Mentiplay

Caroline is a creative writer, poet and performer. She founded A Little Act of Words in 2020 after reflecting upon the impact of personal, meaningful words lifting the very heart and soul of people. Nothing felt more significant during lockdown and after years of writing poetry for weddings and other occasions, Caroline was delighted to offer her writing skills to anyone looking to gift a personal poem. With a degree in Acting Studies and a Masters in Scriptwriting for TV and Radio, Caroline has written several plays and is currently writing a comedy about mothers, daughters and the complexities of the blended family. She loves to explore female inspired themes and to use observational comedy to shine a light on the many challenges that women face. Caroline is also establishing her own Spoken Word voice with funny and poignant poems about her own life experiences. She is keen to use her experience and talents to inspire other people to explore their own creativity and loves
a good collaboration.

Özge Spike

Özge is a playright, jewellery maker and wonderful human being. You can find her written piece about how 'O with the dots' her company was founded and how she found herself in Edinburgh - in issue 2 of little living room. Ozge's jewellery captures moments for people to wear as beautiful statement pieces.

Amber Isaacs

Amber Isaacs is a reader and writer based in Edinburgh, Scotland. She is an obsessive reader, clocking in around 250+ books a year (of varying quality), and has experience in reading submissions for other literary magazines. Amber has previously been published in little living room, with a poem featured in issue six, and has had flash fiction appear in other magazines as well. She also runs Edinburgh Queer Book and Craft Club, a monthly, free-to-attend book club based in central Edinburgh. Amber is thrilled to be working with the team on this latest issue.
Lucy Lauder

Lucy Lauder is a writer from the Scottish Borders now based in Glasgow. Lucy recently graduated with an MA in English and Scottish Literature, and is currently working towards a Masters’ in Modernism at the University of Glasgow, where she is an editor of FromGlasgowToSaturn journal. Her work is inspired by the colours and geographies of dreams, and has previously been published in SNACK, BROTH and Horizon magazine. When not reading, writing or working part-time in Sainsbury’s, Lucy can be found wherever there is porridge and/or shavasana.

Ell Rose is a non-binary illustrator & animator based in Edinburgh. They have 2 cats that sometimes feature in their work in either comics or illustrations/animation. As well as working with clients such as University of Liverpool, Makematic and Loop Agencies, they also are the Society of Children’s Book Writers and illustrators illustration features editor for their online magazine Words&Pictures.
They have published illustration work in the first issue of The Toy Press, Issue 5 & 8 of The Little Livingroom, The University of Edinburgh Alumni magazine 2021, online magazine Words & Pictures plus The Dirigible Balloon. They are available for Editorial, Non-Fiction & Fiction books and commercial work as well as 2D motion graphics.
